To Bring Value
We love to travel to new places, get outdoors, take on adventures & appreciate what this world has to share. This site was not created to show off where we have been but to provide details & tips on how we did it so you too can become an Explorsmith.
We follow lots of travel influencers because they provide some great photos but many (that we see) do not provide any value beyond a cool photo- no location, what was the best way to get there, costs, time of year to visit, etc. Social media is also inundated with two types of travelers - 1) travelers that sleep in a tent on the side of a mountain or living their best vanlife or 2) travelers staying at a fancy resort with a private villa & pool looking out at an amazing view from their bed. Don't get us wrong, we enjoy being voyeurs to their travels but there are a lot of amazing opportunities out there in the middle & we want to show you how you can take full advantage of that through our experiences & what we have learned. All of these elements brought us to start The Explorsmiths.
We both have full time jobs & neither one of us makes "f*%* you" money but we still manage to make our adventures happen & you can too. Sometimes we may get lucky & splurge on a hotel, but most times we look for the best location & value - even if it means a hostel. We pack light, almost always just a carry-on (even for 2 week trips) but we are not backpackers. We do adrenaline-filled activities on our trips but we also take the time to explore local culture. We plan our time but we also plan flexibility & moments where we can slow down.
That is Us, Now You
We hope to help you overcome any feelings of being overwhelmed with planning a trip, we hope to inspire you to overcome your excuses for why you can't travel & we hope to help you bring some more joy into your life through travel & adventure, whether that is flying across the world or driving an hour up the road from your home.
